There are ships sailing to many ports, but not a single one goes where life is not painful.”

–Fernando Pessoa

Each mini-zine in the Easy Street series is dedicated to Fernando Pessoa. I am using zines as a way of generating ideas for my second novel, but they have become important to me as finished pieces of art in their own right. They are also a helpful way to organize my thoughts.  Easy Street No. 3 reveals my birth myth and introduces the idea of needing to know you were wanted, which is The Goat Child’s dream. Included in this zine:

  1. Birth Myth drawings
  2. Connections to The Goat Child

At first, it’s unfamiliar, then it strikes root.”

What is there to confess that’s worthwhile or useful? What has happened to us has happened to everyone or only to us; if to everyone, then it’s no novelty, and if only to us, then it won’t be understood.”
